For Tutors

Want to become a peer tutor? Read the steps below to find out how to apply.

1. Teacher Recommendation Form

Contact the teacher of the subject(s) you wish to tutor and ask them to complete this recommendation form! **Here is a script on how to approach your teachers to request a recommendation! Be sure to have each teacher fill out the form for every subject you wish to tutor for. **

2. Application

Once the teacher submits their rec., Sarah Wong (Peer Tutor Trainer) will review their responses to determine your eligibility to apply as a peer tutor. If the eligibility criteria is met, Sarah Wong will contact you with instructions to complete the peer tutor application form. 

3. Training

Once the application is submitted, you will receive an email with the peer tutor training's date and time. All tutors are required to attend this online training which entails rules, expectations regarding this program, and next steps. 

4. Getting a Tutee

Following your training, Maggie Shen (Database Manager) will create a personalized tutor profile with the information provided on your application. Potential tutees will browse tutor profiles and submit requests. If a tutee requests you, Maggie will contact you to confirm your availability. **Failure to respond to a request will result in a drop from this program.**

5. Get Matched

Once you are matched with a tutee, Maggie will then connect you with them. Before your tutoring sessions can begin, you must fill out this Contract Request Form with your information. Mrs. Kat will then email a contract for electronic signatures.​ Read carefully and adhere to the norms & conditions specified in the contract. You may begin tutoring as soon as you receive an email confirmation from Mrs. Kat.

6. Submit Hours

Keep track of your hours using the timesheet and submit a picture monthly. **We only offer in-person tutoring.**
